| Out of the Middle East Peace Initiative Conference in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv from August 23-29th, Director of MAS-Freedom, NC found the events on day 5 to be the most interesting. The afternoon event included a dialogue with Martin Luther King 111, Dalia Rabin, daughter of assassinated Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin , Former Congressman Hansen of Utah at the Yitzhak Rabin Center for Israeli Studies. The purpose of this session was to continue interfaith activities that include conferencing setting for formal discussions about peace in the Middle East. The presence of Khalilah Sabra of MAS Freedom, Martin Luther King 111 and Dalia Rubin served to increase visibilty of people different religions promoting peace. |

| This exchanged included Alon Pinkus,Israeli Consul General in New York, who was quoted seven years ago in a CNN interview as saying "We don't have the right and we're not choosing Palestinian leaders. And there reasons but there is no legal justification. The justification is moral, it's political, it is based on national security." His politics continues to be rather decisive about the Palestinians not having democratic rights in the controlled state. Pinkus gave a statistical analysis of what Israel would look like if Palestinains were given democratic rights equal to those of an Israeli citizens. He said, "The Israeli State would dissolved and that Palestinians would have the Director, Khalilah Sabra about humanitarian considerations, Alon replied, "Right or wrong, the Israeli will do whatever is necessary to maintain a Jewish State. Is it necessarily right? No!" |
